Rising from the Rock

Built around one of Mahé's natural granite formations, the same ancient stone that shapes much of Seychelles' coastline rises two storeys through the heart of the house.
Rather than removing it, Hillcrest was designed around it.

The Villa Barefoot
Set on a 1,600 sqm hillside property, Hillcrest is a self-catering, true family home, comfortable, unpretentious, and made for gathering.
Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a powder room, across 490 sqm of living space. Hillcrest comfortably sleeps eight, with the option of up to ten with extra beds, along with a fully equipped kitchen, formal dining room, living room, and private gym, plus an alfresco dining area with a BBQ overlooking the garden, pool, sun deck, and ocean. It's where most evenings end up, long after the plates are cleared. We're also happy to arrange laundry services during your stay.
The ground floor is open-air by design, letting the tropical breeze move freely through the home. As with island living, you may spot geckos or friendly insect passing through.

A View Worth Climbing for
Nestled into the green hills of Glacis, on Mahé Island. The villa sits just a 2-minute drive from Sunset Beach and 5 minutes north of Beau Vallon, the island's liveliest beach hub.
Given the steep hillside and tropical climate, a hired car is recommended to easily navigate the island, let us know and we're happy to help arrange this for you.
Cared for, Always
More than a place to stay

MEET MARIANA
Your villa host, always ready with a warm smile. A devoted cat lover, don't be surprised if she asks about yours too.
it is a home

MEET THE TEAM
Brothers-in-law Samsul and Nahid keep the villa, garden, and grounds looked after so you can simply enjoy being here.
At its heart, Hillcrest is family-owned and hospitality-driven, a place where people come together, unwind, and make the most of the island. Mariana, Samsul, and Nahid, our villa host, groundsman, and housekeeper, help care for the villa, garden, and grounds throughout your stay.
You might also meet Tiger, our resident garden cat, you'll likely find him at the gate, in the garden, or wherever the sun is best.
Green By Nature
Hillcrest is powered by solar, its water drawn from rainwater tanks, its kitchen scraps returned to the soil through composting.
The garden grows coconut, papaya, banana, mango, passionfruit, and more, tended organically across the hillside and often finding its way to the kitchen table. Native birds fill the garden by day. Fruit bats take over at sunset, gliding through the canopy. Our favourite place to watch them is with a drink on the sun deck as the light fades.
